FAQ
America's Army freezes when first started after full or patched installation; how can I overcome this problem?
This is most likely caused by your firewall software. Current releases of Windows include Firewall software that protect against potential unwanted access over the internet. By default, the Firewall software installed on your computer must know about applications that require internet access. The firewall software has paused the game process and is requesting your confirmation to unblock the program and allow access to the internet; however, the popup window may not be displayed over the full screen game display. To correct this, you will need to manually add the newly patched game executable (AA3Game.exe) to the unblocked application list for your firewall. Alternately, you can quickly switch the game from full screen to windowed mode by pressing Alt+Enter immediately upon startup (before the firewall software pauses it), and interact with the firewall popup normally to unblock the game executable. This problem has been identified on Microsoft Windows standard Firewall, McAfee Personal Firewall 7 and ZoneAlarm firewalls. To unblock America's Army on your Microsoft Windows standard Firewall (included with Windows XP Service Pack 2), open the Windows Control Panel by clicking the Start Button then selecting Control Panel, and then click the Security Center icon. Once inside the Security Center, choose to manage settings for Windows Firewall (this is near the bottom of the window). Click the Exceptions tab, then click the Add Program button. Finally, locate your America???s Army game executable.
If I am installing a new version of the game, should I uninstall previous versions?
We have found that a full uninstallation of all previous versions of the game allows for a clean installation of the latest release and minimizes most, if not all, login- and gameplay-related issues.
I have a firewall; will that prevent me from logging in?
We have found that resetting your firewall or changing your settings to allow access for America's Army has cleared up issues that some were having logging into the game. To do this, you will first need to check to see if America's Army is listed as " AA3Game.exe" in your firewall's program control list. If it is there, please remove it. You can then either add the current America's Army version to your firewall manually or, if your settings permit it, simply run the game and your firewall software will prompt you on how to handle its networking permissions. Please refer to your firewall's user manual to answer any specific questions you have about how to configure it correctly.
What if I get a message that there is a "Time Out" or "Auth is down"?
We are aware of the instances of "Time Out" that have been reported in the forums, http://forum.americasarmy.com, and continue to check out each instance as it is reported. Unfortunately, many of the issues are network related and outside our ability to troubleshoot. We have tried to post as many of the fixes that have been successful for individuals in the Stickies and will continue to troubleshoot as individual problems occur.

Why have I not received my password e-mail?
We have investigated many specific examples of reported incidents of password e-mails not arriving. In ALL cases we were able to identify that the e-mail was sent out to the appropriate e-mail address. In examining further, we have found that almost ALL returns indicate an e-mail account that was mistyped to begin with, that the user account at providers such as yahoo.com, hotmail.com, web.de or aol.com no longer exists (keep in mind that these providers routinely delete inactive accounts), or the quota had been reached for the capacity of the account. Some providers may inadvertently identify the e-mail as unsolicited and place it in your "Junk" or "Spam" folder so please be sure to check there.
What are the new features in the Account Management Website?
We have now included the Server features from the MBS site, to give you a unique look at both players and servers.

What are Server Auth Accounts and how do I create one?

Server Auth Accounts are AA3 user accounts specifically created to authenticate your servers upon starting. These accounts will have a username and password, but will be unable to play the game, create characters, or log in to AA3 AMW. The credentials will only be recognized by the server authentication system, thus enabling you to create Server Auth accounts under your master account for authenticating servers. This is primarily for Honor Providers or players who do not wish to disclose their username or password to others wanting to manage the server.

There are two methods for creating a Server Auth Account. Either way, the first step is to go to the Manage Servers page. If you haven't done so already, create a server. Click one of your servers to its details page. Then, enter a name and password for your Auth Account in the <Server Auth Account> box. When ready, click ASSIGN NEW CREDENTIALS to setup the account. The new Auth Account will automatically be created and tied to the account you are currently logged in as. Note that an error message saying the "name is not available" will appear if you choose a username that is already in use, or the name of an Auth Account that is being used by another master account. Once an auth account has been registered under your account, you may use that account for any of your servers. Alternatively, you can create new Server Auth Accounts for your servers via the same method. To change the password for your Server Auth Account, simply navigate to a server owned by that Auth Account and enter a new password in the <Server Auth Accounts> dialogue (but keep the username), and press ASSIGN NEW LICENSE. The password will be changed automatically.
